FUTURE OF HARD DISK
Storage capacity of Hard Disks:
- PETA BYTE
- EXA BYTE
- ZETTA BYTE
- YETTA BYTE
1.PETA BYTE:
A petabyte is a unit of information equal to one quadrillion (short scale) bytes, or 1000 terabytes. It is abbreviated PB. The prefix peta- (P) indicates a power of 1000:
1 PB = 1,000,000,000,000,000 B = 10005 B = 1015 B
It can Holds data upto 2 data centers cabinets.
2.EXA BYTE:
An exabyte is a unit of information or computer storage equal to one quintillionbytes (short scale). It is commonly abbreviated EB. When used with byte multiples, the unit indicates a power of 1000:
§ 1 EB = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 B = 1018 bytes = 1 billion gigabytes = 1 million terabytes
It can holds data uptp 2000 cabinets, datacenters will consume the size of 4 storey building.
3.ZETTA BYTE:
A zettabyte (symbol ZB, derived from the SI prefix zetta-) is a unit of information or computer storage equal to one sextillion (one long scale trilliard) bytes.[1][2][3][4]
§ 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes = 10007, or 1021.
It can hold data upto 1000 data centers will consume an area of about 90 square kms.
4.YOTTA BYTE:
A yottabyte is a unit of information or computer storage equal to one septillion(one long scale quadrillion or 1024) bytes (one quadrillion gigabytes). It is commonly abbreviated YB. As of 2010, no system has yet achieved one yottabyte of storage. In fact, the combined space of all the computerhard drives in the entire world does not amount to even one yottabyte.
When used with byte multiples indicates a power of 1,000:
§ 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes — 10008, or 1024
It can hold a million data centers will consume a mind blogging area of 6500 square kilometers.
